Program Highlights
The Eastern Washington Indian Law Conference, sponsored by the University of
Washington Native American Law Center and Gonzaga University Law School, will be held at
Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane on April 2, 2004. The program will cover topics
of interest to attorneys whose practice involves Indian tribes and their members as well as those
who come into contact with Indian treaty rights, Indian tribes, tribal members and others who
live on or near Indian reservations.
The conference will begin with an unveiling of nine tribal seals from area tribes in the
Barbieri Moot Courtroom at the Gonzaga University School of Law. Indian law experts will
discuss breaking issues in Indian water rights and environmental law, land consolidation and
probate as well as current issues in tribal court practice. This program will also include a
litigation update and discussion of legal services delivery in Indian country.
